Project 1 Artist Statement

For my first project, which was the Faux selfies, we were required to do a total of 15 images/gifs reflecting our alter personas that we made up. My alter persona i created is named Bo Plaskett and below is a variety of things he has done or likes to do. Besides the character i created for this project, the whole premise was to combine "normal" and "not normal" and show that there is a connection between the two and giving out a message that says if you look "normal" towards societal standards, does not mean you are, we all have that weird creativity and imagination in all of our heads and these images are to capture on how Bo; for instance, may look like an ordinary businessman, but his mind and imagination is far off from what he looks like and what he does. The collection of photoshop images; for example, shows Bo's imagination and how creative he is and in the last photo shows the reality of what he is really surrounded by.
